We are excited to announce our October TEMPO Racine meeting and our return to The DeKoven Center’s Taylor Hall!
This month’s program will spotlight two of our very own members, Liz Powell and Stephanie Sklba. Both women are inspiring leaders who have made a lasting impact on Racine through their dedication, service, and leadership. We look forward to hearing their personal stories of success and community commitment and celebrating the difference they continue to make right here in our community.
Liz is the President & CEO of the Racine Community Foundation and has served in this capacity for slightly more than a year. Prior to joining the Foundation, Liz was an active volunteer in the Racine community.
Liz served as a trustee of the Racine YWCA, chaired the steering committee for Youth as Resources, served in various capacities on the board of the Women’s Resource Center, was the president and chaired various committees of the Junior League of Racine, served as president and co-treasurer of the Cops ‘N Kids Reading Center Board, was president of the board of the Racine Country Club, and served as Grants Committee Chair and Board President of the Racine Community Foundation. Liz also served on the RAMAC board, and the Kids First Fund. Liz was recognized by the Racine YWCA as a Woman of Distinction, RAMAC Businessperson of the Year.
Liz currently serves on the Steering Committee for the Academies of Racine, and the RAMAC Foundation.
Prior to her volunteer career, Liz worked at Johnson Financial Group for 10 years and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.
Stephanie Sklba is the new Executive Director for the Racine County Food Bank but is not new to the Food Bank. She served on the board for 20 years before serving in her current role. Prior to the food bank, Stephanie worked at Gateway Technical College for 25 years where she worked closely with the community.
She was born and raised in the Racine community. She has served on many boards and volunteers for many organizations. This community is important to her and she believes in giving back. Stephanie and her husband, Chris, own Art Metals Studio – a custom jewelry store in Downtown Racine. They have been in business for over 20 years! Stephanie is also a yoga instructor at Mandala Yoga Studio.
We are truly honored to welcome Liz and Stephanie to the stage at our October meeting. Join us as we celebrate their leadership journeys, learn from their experiences, and gain inspiration from their dedication to building a stronger Racine.
