Welcome to the Library of the 21st Century!

Join us for an update on the many happenings and changes occurring at the Racine Public Library discussing how the 21st century Library is far more than just a repository of books. The vision behind the current 2nd floor renovation of the Library will be discussed with an emphasis on how public spaces are being designed to foster connections and to create the Library more as a marketplace of ideas. Also covered will be the services, resources and programs the Racine Public Library is offering to bridge the digital divide, provide a more holistic experience and approach for all community members through its offerings, and how the focus is shifting from collections to connections while still ensuring literacy and learning, in all formats, remains the foundation and bedrock of all that we do.

Angela Zimmermann has been the Executive Director of the Racine Public Library since December 2020. In this role, Angela is responsible for the overall operations of the library and the development and implementation of its services and programs.

Angela holds a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.  She is a certified public librarian, has a personality driven to create and innovate, and lives in the greater Racine County area with her hyper dog, Ludwig.
