Our annual holiday celebration takes place at Hot Shop Glass!
We are thrilled to be hosted by Hot Shop Glass, owned by Racine native Amanda Paffrath, for our annual Tempo Racine holiday celebration. Take a break from shopping, wrapping and baking to join us on Thursday, December 8th to create a Fused Glass piece. Each member may choose one of the 3 Fused Glass projects pictured below (design is up to you) and you will be able to pick up your completed piece the week after our meeting.
Amanda first learned glass blowing from Dave Drewek while she was in high school at The Prairie School. She continued learning and creating while earning her degree in Sociology and Social Welfare from UW-Madison. In 1997, she took a chance on a dream and opened Funky Hannah's in downtown Racine. In 2005, another dream became reality when she collaborated with other glass artists to open Hot Shop Glass. In addition to running both businesses and being a wife and mom, Amanda continues to create her own art. Her work is in collections throughout the US, Europe and South America.
Our lunch will be from The Maple Table, owned and operated by Racine residents Tamara and Tony Lopiparo. Opened in 2017, The Maple Table offers locally sourced delicious food.
Networking time will start at 11:00am and lunch will be served promptly at 11:30am in order to allow enough time to create our art pieces.
