We are pleased to be joined by Ritu Raju, President and CEO of Gateway Technical College.
Ritu Raju, Ph.D., serves as the President of Gateway Technical College. Dr. Raju joined Gateway on January 5, 2023. Prior to this role, Dr. Raju served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tarrant County College’s Northeast Campus in Hurst, Texas. Prior to joining Tarrant County College, she was Dean for Advanced Manufacturing at Houston Community College.
She brings more than 18 years of experience in higher education, both in teaching and in administration. Dr. Raju offers a background in academic and workforce program development, grant funding, and strong expertise in building collaborations and partnerships with employers and community organizations. In her previous role, she held responsibility for enrollment management, program vitality, industry engagement, accreditation, and resource management. Under her leadership, the Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence at Houston Community College was designated a Registered Apprenticeship Center by the Department of Labor, allowing the community college to offer apprenticeships directly to area industries. Dr. Raju also led the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education Initiative for Tarrant County College to build stackable, in demand credentials to meet industry needs and to bridge the equity gap for students.
She serves on various non-profit boards and state-level committees. A Fellow of the American Council on Education (ACE), the board of the Council of Fellows for ACE and many local committee and boards. She received her doctorate in Technical Communication and Rhetoric from Texas Tech University, a Masters’ in English from Sam Houston State University, and a Bachelor’s degree from University of Houston Downtown.
