We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming TEMPO Racine meeting at Route 20 on Washington Avenue! This month, we’ll be welcoming Maddie, a recently returned Peace Corps Volunteer, who will be sharing her experience living and serving in Madagascar.
Maddie studied French and TESOL at UW–La Crosse, where her love for language, culture, and travel took her from a semester studying in Senegal to a year teaching English at an elementary school in the French countryside. Most recently, that journey led her to Madagascar, where she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
During our meeting, Maddie will give us a glimpse into what Peace Corps service really looks like, from what brought her there and what everyday life was like, to the highs, the challenges, and the transition back home to Racine. She’ll also share more about Madagascar itself and leave plenty of time for questions about her experience, Peace Corps service, and life abroad.
We hope you’ll join us for what promises to be a fascinating conversation about service, culture, growth, resilience, and the perspective that comes from stepping far outside of what is familiar.
